Graduate Medical Education
Graduate Medical Education, or GME, is a critical stage in a physician’s journey, providing hands-on clinical training following medical school. Upon completing this training, these medical students become fully licensed and board-certified physicians.
At CommuniCare, we are proud to partner with leading residency programs to support high-quality, community-based learning experiences that prepare physicians to deliver compassionate and comprehensive care. Through these partnerships, residents gain valuable, real-world experience while serving diverse patient populations, strengthening both their clinical skills and their connection to the communities they serve. Our commitment to GME reflects our broader mission to improve health outcomes for all by investing in future physicians and expanding access to exceptional care for our patients.
Building on this commitment, CommuniCare is proud to collaborate with three distinguished residency programs that reflect our dedication to comprehensive, patient-centered care. The TIGMER Community-Based Family Medicine Residency Program, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program through Methodist Healthcare System, and the upcoming TIGMER Hospital-Based Family Medicine Residency Program. Together, these programs help cultivate skilled, culturally responsive physicians who are equipped to meet the evolving health needs of our communities.
