Telemedicine Services

Telemedicine refers to the practice of caring for patients remotely when our doctors and patients are not physically present with each other inside an exam room. Modern technology has allowed providers to consult patients by using HIPAA compliant phone calls or video-conferencing tools.

Our doctors can resolve many health concerns in one short telemedicine visit such as colds, hypertension, diabetes, stomach pain, allergies, allergic reactions, sore throat, pink eye, UTI & bladder concerns, medication refills, and most other common conditions.

Currently, we are offering Telemedicine visits for the following services:

  • Pediatrics
  • Family Medicine
  • OB/GYN Women’s Health
  • Behavioral Health – to make an appointment, please call 210-233-7000 (Bexar County) or 512-268-8900 (Hays County)

How to Book a Telemedicine Appointment Online

Instructions in English

    1. To book your Telemedicine appointment, please click on the orange ‘Book Appointment’ button located in the upper righthand corner of this webpage.
    2. A new webpage will open in another tab. Click the ‘I’m Ready’ button.
    3. Enter your local zip code, then click the ‘Next’ button.
    4. Select which service you need (Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN Women’s Health, etc.) through the drop-down menu, then click the ‘Next’ button.
    5. You will then be asked whether you have been seen by a CommuniCare doctor before. (Your answer does not affect your appointment.)
    6. Then, you will be asked to enter your legal name, or the person’s legal name in which you are making the appointment for, and other contact information as requested.
      • After you fill out all the information requested, click the ‘Send Me the Code’ button at the bottom of the screen.
      • Then, enter the 5-digit verification code that will send via text to the phone number you provided and click ‘Verify Code’ button.
    7. Answer any additional prompt questions.
    8. Choose the “Telehealth” button under the drop-down menu, then click the ‘Next’ button.
    9. Select the reason for your visit from the drop-down menu, then click the ‘Next’ button.
    10. Select a time for your appointment. 
    11. Confirm your appointment by selecting the ‘Submit Request’ button. Or click the ‘Select a different appointment’ if you need to change the time you previously selected. 
    12. Then, you’re done! You will receive a confirmation email in your inbox to the email you provided earlier.

                    Please note: You will receive a Virtual Visit Confirmation email from OTTO (noreply@ottohealth.com) with next steps and information regarding your upcoming appointment. See the below videos for instructions to join your appointment and make sure your computer or mobile phone is set up correctly to have a successful visit.

                    1. Para reservar su cita de Telemedicina, haga clic en el botón naranja ‘Reservar cita’ ubicado en la esquina superior derecha de esta página web.
                    2. Se abrirá una nueva página web en otra pestaña. Haga clic en el botón ‘Estoy listo’.
                    3. Ingrese su código postal local, luego haga clic en el botón ‘Siguiente’.
                    4. Seleccione el servicio que necesita (Medicina familiar, Pediatría, Obstetricia y ginecología, Salud de la mujer, etc.) a través del menú desplegable y luego haga clic en el botón ‘Siguiente’.

                      • Después de completar toda la información solicitada, haga clic en el botón ‘Enviarme el código’ en la parte inferior de la pantalla.
                      • Luego, ingrese el código de verificación de 5 dígitos que se enviará por mensaje de texto al número de teléfono que proporcionó y haga clic en el botón ‘Verificar código’.
                    7. Responda cualquier pregunta emergente adicional.
                    8. Elija el botón “Telesalud” en el menú desplegable, luego haga clic en el botón “Siguiente”.
                    9. Seleccione el motivo de su visita en el menú desplegable y luego haga clic en el botón ‘Siguiente’.
                    10. Seleccione una hora para su cita.
                    11. Confirme su cita seleccionando el botón ‘Enviar solicitud’. O haga clic en ‘Seleccionar una cita diferente’ si necesita cambiar la hora que seleccionó anteriormente.
                    12. Entonces, ¡ya está! Recibirá un correo electrónico de confirmación en su bandeja de entrada al correo electrónico que proporcionó anteriormente.
