At CommuniCare’s Shavano Innovation Clinic, we're combining the convenience of drive-through and curbside service with personalized, in-person care options to create a modern healthcare experience built around you. Whether you're a returning patient or visiting us for the first time, you'll find care that’s fast, friendly, and focused on what matters most—your health.

The Shavano Innovation Clinic is your new go-to primary care facility, conveniently located near the intersection of Huebner Road and NW Military Highway, across from the Olmos Creek Shopping Center and next to a Black Rock Coffee Bar. This clinic offers efficient and reliable acute care without the long wait times typical of traditional clinics.

CommuniCare's Shavano Innovation Clinic is dedicated to serving the San Antonio community by providing acute care for anyone in need of a sick visit. Whether you're a busy parent or a working professional, you can expect compassionate and quick healthcare delivered with efficiency through our Xpress Care. In addition to acute care, we also offer standard primary care services at the CarePoint Hub, such as health screenings, sports physicals, wellness checks, and more.

Xpress Care Lanes: Healthcare On the Go

Life moves fast. So should your healthcare.
Skip the waiting room with Xpress Care! Enjoy a quick visit through our three-lane drive-through, designed for registered patients with same-day appointments. If you and/or your family member(s) developed any or a combination of the following conditions: Skin rash, ear pain or infection, allergies, pink eye, cough, fever, and/or sore throat we’ve got you covered, all without stepping out of your car. 

How It Works

  1. Schedule your appointment by phone.
  2. Drive up to any available lane at your scheduled time.
  3. Get evaluated by a CommuniCare healthcare worker.
  4. Receive care on the spot without leaving your car.
  5. If necessary, our medical staff will direct you to the Curbside area for additional services like lab testing or immunizations.

Sometimes you need a little more. That's why our drive-through system seamlessly connects to our Curbside Care Area, where you can pull into a reserved parking space for additional services.

    • RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus)
    • Strep throat
  • Immunizations
    • COVID-19 boosters
    • Flu shots
    • Other routine vaccines (as recommended)
  • Essential health checks
    • Vital signs (blood pressure, body temperature, oxygen levels, etc.)
    • Follow-up evaluations based on test results
  • On-the-spot lab work
    • Quick lab testing and sample collection as needed
